Myanmar won the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team event, defeating Indonesia in the final. Indonesia earned silver, while Malaysia and Mongolia shared bronze. The result gave Myanmar its first esports gold of the Games and made for a milestone day in a title with a large mobile esports following.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a five-versus-five MOBA designed for mobile play. Teams select heroes with different abilities and roles, then work together to control lanes, contest objectives and destroy the opposing base. The final tested coordination and decision-making as much as individual skill: teams need to move together, time their attacks and respond quickly when opponents try to turn the match.
Indonesia’s silver added to its esports medal haul, while Malaysia reached the podium again. Myanmar’s victory was a notable breakthrough in the tournament, and the win gave the country a place among the esports gold medallists at Aichi–Nagoya 2026.
League of Legends also moved into its semifinal stage. South Korea advanced to the final after defeating Saudi Arabia, while Chinese Taipei reached the title match after its semifinal. The matchup set up a familiar rivalry for the last day of esports competition.
The programme now had just one esports gold left to award. With Mobile Legends decided and the League of Legends finalists confirmed, attention shifted to the closing match on 2 October.
