4th September 2024, Shenzhen, China – The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) successfully convened its Extraordinary Executive Board Meeting on 3rd September in Shenzhen, China. The meeting was chaired by AESF President, Mr. Kenneth Fok.
Mr. Fok delivered a special remark to the executive board members, reiterating the importance of AESF remaining steadfast in our commitment to further strengthen our relations with stakeholders as we enter a new era of Asian Esports after its debut at the Hangzhou Asian Games, particularly with the Olympic Council of Asia, National Olympic Committees, Governments, Member Associations, Publishers, Athletes, and other key partners.
He also addressed pertinent matters, emphasizing the need for the independent Task Force to continuously conduct in-depth research, further develop the Esports IF/AF Governance Model as a critical step forward for Asian Esports, and report back to the Executive Board.
In addition, several agenda items were discussed, including the activity report, governance and membership, and upcoming AESF competitions currently in preparation, such as the 2024 China-ASEAN Esports Competition in Nanning, the AESF Asian Cup, AESF e-Masters, and AESF University Championship.
Prior to the meeting, the Executive Board Members visited Tencent Headquarters, a partner of AESF and a member of AESF’s Publisher Commission. The visit aimed to gain insights into the company's overall business organization, including discussions on the future of esports and a tour of the Tencent office.
