Bangkok, Thailand, 11 October 2025 – The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) and the European Esports Federation (EEF) have officially signed a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 9 October 2025, signifying the beginning of a strategic partnership to enhance cooperation between Asia and Europe in the global esports ecosystem.

This partnership will focus on key areas including esports education, governance standardization, alignment with the Olympic movement, training and knowledge exchange, promotion of esports, and the development of international partnerships. Through these collaborative efforts, both federations aim to elevate esports on a global scale and create a more unified and sustainable ecosystem.

The MoU was signed in conjunction with the AESF Esports Forum in Bangkok. The signing was conducted by AESF Director General, Steve Kim, and EEF Secretary General, Lukasz Klimczyk, and witnessed by Mekan Eyeberdiyev, AESF Executive Board Member, and Karol Cagan, EEF Executive Board Member.

This significant collaboration reflects the shared vision of AESF and EEF to bring Asia and Europe closer together through esports. The partnership will pave the way for joint initiatives, innovative programs, and expanded opportunities for athletes, member associations, and stakeholders across both continents.

“This partnership represents a major step forward in uniting two of the world’s most dynamic esports regions,” said Steve Kim, AESF Director General. “By combining the strengths of Asia and Europe, we will elevate governance standards and build platforms that empower our athletes, member associations, and partners. We are committed to shaping a stronger, more connected global esports ecosystem for the future.”

Lukasz Klimczyk, EEF Secretary General, said: "This Memorandum of Understanding is a milestone for both continental federations, it’s members and for the global esports community. Together with AESF, we are building bridges between continents - sharing knowledge, experience, and a common vision for the sustainable growth of esports. This partnership is not only about collaboration, but also about creating lasting impact for athletes and organizations across Europe and Asia."
