AESF Welcomes Its 40th Member: Yemen Federation for Electronic Sports

06 MAY 26

The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) has officially welcomed the Yemen Federation for Electronic Sports (YEF) as its 40th member association, continuing its steady growth across the region.

YEF’s inclusion highlights AESF’s continued push to expand esports across diverse and emerging communities in Asia. As part of the AESF network, Yemen now joins a wider ecosystem focused on collaboration, development, and elevating esports standards across the region.

As the national governing body for esports in Yemen, YEF plays a key role in organizing and developing esports activities, supporting players, and building a more structured competitive discipline. The federation has been actively working to grow its local ecosystem while opening doors for players to compete on bigger regional and international platforms.

Looking ahead, YEF is focused on building a sustainable esports ecosystem – one that grows grassroots participation, develops new talent, and creates more opportunities through structured competitions nationwide. YEF is committed to representing Yemen at the highest levels and contributing to the growth of esports in the region.

Esports in Yemen is gaining momentum, with popular titles such as eFootball, EA Sports FC, PUBG, Valorant, Call of Duty, Tekken, Dota 2, and Rocket League driving engagement across the community.

Powered by a young and fast-growing player base, the esports scene in Yemen continues to expand across regions, with increasing participation from both male and female players. In 2025, YEF stepped up its efforts by launching regional branches and hosting national championships—helping shape a more competitive and connected ecosystem.

The federation is also rolling out large-scale national tournaments across multiple governorates, designed to be inclusive and accessible. These events are expected to draw thousands of players while spotlighting the next generation of esports talent.

In a statement, President of YEF, Mr. Muneer Ahmed Sufyan Al-Wajih said: “We are proud to join the Asian Electronic Sports Federation. This membership represents an important milestone for esports in Yemen and opens new opportunities for our players and community to grow, compete, and connect with the international esports ecosystem.”

With Yemen joining as its 40th member, AESF continues to move forward in building a more inclusive and dynamic esports landscape across Asia. YEF benefits from federation support, networking opportunities, and eligible for all regional AESF competitions.
