Celebrating Esports Triumphs: A Recap of AESF in 2023

The latest annual report from the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) chronicles the remarkable journey of Esports in 2023.


Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Raja Randhir Singh, praises the AESF's progressive spirit, particularly lauding the historic debut of Esports at the 19th Asian Games.


President Kenneth Fok extends heartfelt gratitude to invaluable partners and friends, acknowledging their dedication and expertise that propelled the journey to unprecedented heights. 


The report delves into the Road to Asian Games, highlighting significant milestones: 511 athletes representing 30 countries and regions engaged in 217 matches over 32 total match days, garnering a staggering 830 million views online.


In the Esports debut as a medal sport at the Asian Games 2022, 476 athletes from 30 participating National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 219 matches across various esports titles, resulting in 21 medals. 


The report also shines a spotlight on the Asian Games Esports Demonstration Event, featuring two titles, Steelraid and Ultimate Battle Robots, with participation from six NOCs and the awarding of six medals.


Yap "xNova" Jian Wei from Malaysia's DOTA 2 team, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent Malaysia and bring home the Bronze medal. He hopes their achievements will garner more attention and support for Malaysian Esports globally.
