In a groundbreaking development, Esports is set to shine as an official medal sport at the East Asian Youth Games (EAYG), scheduled to take place from 18 to 19 August 2023 at the Central Cultural Palace in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This year's competition will feature two game titles: King of Fighters XV and VR Tennis, each with an individual event. Athletes hailing from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong - China PR, Japan, and Mongolia will be participating in the event, with ages ranging from 14 to 18 years old. 

Following the Esports event organizing structure of the Asian Games and any other regional Olympic events in Asia, the EAYG Esports program will be organized under the leadership of AESF, who is the official technical delegate for the EAYG 2023 Esports program.

The athletes' mastery over their digital avatars and their strategic acumen in the King of Fighters XV event will be put to the test, mirroring the precision and dedication of traditional athletes. As the digital battlegrounds come alive, participants will vie for victory and the chance to stand on the podium as true Esports champions.

Beyond the gripping competition, it's of great significance to underline that the expansion of Esports to encompass immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) game titles like the VR Tennis, was introduced by AESF into the Esports program at the Olympic event, aligning with its overarching commitment and direction toward electronic sports.
