Panda Cup VALORANT Esports Invitational

30 APR 26

The inaugural Panda Cup VALORANT Esports Invitational will take place from May 1 to May 14, 2026, bringing together some of the most promising collegiate teams from across Asia in a competition that blends elite gameplay with international collaboration.

Hosted by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), co-hosted by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), and organized by Sichuan Media Group, the Panda Cup represents a significant step forward in strengthening regional esports ecosystems while fostering cross-cultural engagement through competitive gaming.

The tournament features a total of 23 collegiate teams, comprising 16 teams from the China Division and 7 teams from the International Division. The competition is structured to highlight both domestic and regional excellence, culminating in a final cross-division showdown.

The International Division, featuring teams from across Southeast Asia, will begin with online qualifiers held from May 1–3, 2026. Competing in a best-of-three (BO3) single-elimination format, the seven teams will be placed into a bracket via random draw. One team will receive a bye into the semifinals, while the remaining six teams will compete in the quarterfinals. The three quarterfinal winners will join the bye team to complete the semifinal lineup.

The seven participating teams in the international division are:

  • Bad Aim Gaming (Malaysia)
  • BINUS University (Indonesia)
  • ESB Warriors (Brunei)
  • Genius Esports (Laos)
  • ILUSO Esports (Vietnam)
  • NUS Esports (Singapore)
  • Sripatum University (Thailand)

From this stage, the top two collegiate teams from the international division will advance to the next phase of the competition.

Running from May 4–10, 2026, the China Division will be divided into East and West regions during its preliminary stage. Each region will produce two qualifying teams, resulting in four teams advancing to the China Regional Finals. Ultimately, the top two teams from the China Division will earn their place in the final stage of the tournament.

A Technical Meeting and Official Draw was held online on April 27, 2026, providing teams with briefings on key competition rules and regulations and confirming the tournament bracket. The session was led by the Technical Delegate, Eddy Chen. Following the draw, ILUSO Esports received a bye into the semifinals, while the remaining six teams will compete in the quarterfinal stage to secure their place in the final four.

By bringing together student-athletes from diverse backgrounds, the event highlights the growing importance of esports as a bridge between collegiate communities and nations.
